Image Alt Checker
Enter a URL to see which images are missing alt text, including common lazy-loaded image attributes — fetched live, free, no signup required.
What this checks
This tool fetches the page and extracts every <img> tag, reading its src (falling back to common lazy-load attributes like data-src when present) and alt attributes.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What counts as a missing ALT?
- An <img> tag with no alt attribute at all — that's different from an empty alt="", which is flagged separately.
- Is an empty alt attribute always wrong?
- No — alt="" is the correct choice for purely decorative images; it's flagged for review, not automatically marked as an error.
- Does this fix missing ALT text for me?
- No, it only reports what's missing — you'll need to add the ALT text in your own site's code.
